Throwin' it back to 3 years ago in Bali when I forced Ben to do a silly pose for an Insta pic. Some things will never change 😜 . Today we are headed back to Bali where we will have a "home base" for a bit. People keep asking us what we're most excited for, and our honest answer is pretty boring... . After spending the last 5 months traveling and visiting family & friends, the thing we are most looking forward to is having time to WORK. Yeah, I told you it was boring. . When we took the leap to go full time on our blog last October, we couldn't have ever foreseen how many amazing opportunities this year would bring. We spent 6 months in Chiang Mai networking and learning from others, and this past 5 months has opened up a ton more doors we never could have imagined. . We have so many ideas and projects we can't wait to get started on and share with all of you. And Bali is going to be the place to dig right in. . We seriously can't wait to get back to the grind, which I guess is a sign that we truly love what we're doing. . I feel most like myself when I'm surrounded by nature. . The smell of pine trees. The chirping of birds. The breeze in my hair and the sunshine on my skin. . So grateful we had the chance to spend a night under the stars before we say goodbye to Minnesota in just a couple days. And happy to be reminded how much I love the smell of campfire and the taste of toasted marshmallows. THE. BEST. . This ginger dude sure knows his sunscreen #gingerproblems 🔥 . We used to just stock up on the cheapest stuff on the shelf, but the more we learn about sunscreen, the more picky we are... . Each time we come back to our hometown in Minnesota, we have a few “must dos”. . 1) Go to a lake. Even if it’s wintertime. But summer is better! This is a MUST. (In case you didn’t know, Minnesota has more than 10,000 lakes, so there are plenty to choose from!) . 2) Eat something on the grill. Grilled veggie kebabs, grilled fish, Mom’s homemade hamburgers, grilled shrimp, grilled corn on the cob, grilled avocado (yes, it’s amazing!), you name it…. #grillmasterintraining . 3) Go to some of our favorite restaurants, breweries and coffee shops. It would be easier to post this picture with a quote about love, but I’m gonna skip that for today and go a different direction… . Instagram is a funny thing. . Some accounts make it look like their relationship is all holding hands and laughter and feeding each other chocolate covered strawberries on a beach… or something like that ;) But that’s only part of their story. . We don’t often talk about our personal relationship on social media, but here’s a glimpse: We hold hands and laugh and cuddle, but we also have disagreements (because hey, we are 2 human beings with 2 different brains). We argue and sometimes annoy each other. We spend 24/7 together when we’re traveling, and sometimes need time apart. . We are so thankful that we have each other and we can continue to grow together and tackle life’s ups & downs side by side. . But we are not perfect. No relationship is. Just like anything worthwhile in life, it requires work and compromise and sacrifice. . We try our best to be transparent on social media because there’s so much fake stuff out there, and sometimes a little truth is refreshing. . What do you think?
